Window Frame Removal

Any help on removing the window frame from a 64 Globe Trotter? I *thought* you removed the window crank and then raised the window, removed a screw and the window and frame would slide out. I don't see a screw and the frame isn't moving in either direction.

I plan to replace the gasket and tape on all the window. Anyone done that yet? Any advise - other than what I read on RJ's site.

I ended up finding the screw. It was located on the outside of the frame, under the rain guard. Had to bend the rain guard to get it out. Unfortunately, I still couldn't slide the window out. Now I'm really perplexed. Something is still holding it in and I can't tell what. Any ideas - anyone?! Good thing they're calling for rain or I'd be going nuts!

I have also found the screw on the outside and tried to unscrew it. It seems to be stuck. Once I figure out how to remove the screw, will I be able to remove the window frame?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Once I got the screw out the window came out with some jiggling...

I did have to bend the rain gutter up so it could slide out. I will post a pic soon.

Did you have a plastic backing plate holding the screw in? I had to wiggle th ewindow and the backing plate fell off - window slid out.

For future reference - this project: don't remove window from glazing tape. 40yo glazing tape is still plenty sticky and you will crack your window. Also inserting the new gasket is time consuming and painful! I found using a credit card to wedge the gasket in help a lot.
