Window fire exits

I was looking at the pictures of the front bedroom interior and I see it is a fire exit. I was wondering with the rock guard over the window if that impedes an exit or if you should undo the latches outside or if a sturdy push will release the straps.

One would believe that when it comes to saving one's life or a family member the plastic rock guard over the window would pose no challenge. I suppose you might use the fire extinguisher to break the glass window and continue to destroy the plastic guard after you exhausted the contents of the extinguisher.

Or I could make a break for the door and the extinguisher through the long corridor ducking falling burning rafters. well there is the dog... don't want him to get hot.
