I hit a stop sign .I know the terrible feelings your going thru.Luckily I had very little damage compared to your accident. It really hurts now but it will get better after repairs. So sorry hang in there.Remember it's just metal !

I often think I have seen it all, heard it all, been there done that, and nothing should surprise me, but I am often blown away by what some people do. This community is so very awesome and I am so fortunate to be a part of it. Thank you all, but thank you so much Chris.

I was asking some fellow Airstreamers this weekend about the physics of squeezing a larger trailer (than my dainty Mini) on some New England campsites. They said the problems start when the campsite actually goes and leaves up some of the trees...

Frank OUCH! I'm sure you will get this fixed but some frustrations a guy just doesn't need!

This forum is awesome, the help just comes flowing in when needed.
Keep yourself surrounded with aluminum and all will get better!

A 63 has landed

Frank, the 63 made it home in one piece with no issues. I had no brakes or lights and the door blew open but I only had to travel 6 miles to get it home. Here are some shots of your windows. i hope to have them out of the trailer this afternoon and will box them up this evening and maile them out in the morning. It shoule take 7 to 10 days to arrive by post. I will check with UPS first to see how much the shipping is with them and if it's not too much I will use them as they are faster that postal services.

I really appreciate all the kind words of gratitude but my motives are not totally altruistic. Frank is going to swap me some labor on my 61 (The Buddha Baby) which is at his shop. If I do decide to resurect the 63 (yet unnamed) I, we will be searching for replacement windows like the ones I'm sending him.

They're Out

Frank the windows are out. They're not perfect and will need some attention to make them right.
I'll be boxing them up tonight and will ship them tomorrow.

Still a very good thing as it solves problems for both of you.

Wow you have sharp eyes. I'm surprised you didn't see the robin's egg sitting there as well. The egg and the tent peg are just incidentals that I pick up during my journeys around the campground.

Frank a nice man in a brown suit driving a brown truck now has your windows. They are on the way. UPS says to expect them on Monday. I sent you the tracking number by e-mail so you can check on their progress.

Yesterday, at 11 am a nice man, wearing a brown suit and driving a brown truck banged on the shop door. He was carrying a box marked "gift" and sweating profusely. Yesterday we hit 85 here with close to the same percent of humidity. He announced he needed my signature, and proceeded to tell me about his Uncles Airstream and many of the fond memories of camping with it in West Virginia.
In the box I found two windows exactly like the two destroyed by me. One of them was already polished up.
Later in the day my new glass guy(new to me, my old glass guy died after 56 years in business) called to ask if he could deliver the glass after lunch today.
Things are looking up.

Now the irony of this story...
I am about to go over to my storage yard and remove windows from a wrecked trailer. Two of those windows are needed for Wasagachris' Buddha Baby project. Hopefully the rest of the windows are involved in some kind of karmatic event like this one.

Thank you Chris.
