thermopane glass
I have been working on my most recent project, a 74 Overlander, and luckily, I guess, it rained good and hard for a few days after I got it so I have been busy chasing down leaks. It has it's share of soft wood and have found the usual culprits, vent stacks, roof vent covers and the dreaded (and loved) vista windows. I have found info on repairs to most of these but have another problem I would like to address. I have done a search on repairs to the front thermal pane glass units, the small fixed ones on either side of the main window and have come up empty. The center unit is in relatively good and clean shape so I will leave it alone for now. They seem to be similar to the vista windows but they are two pieces of glass, not one piece of glass and the expendable acrylite piece found on the vistas. Both of these windows also have an exterior frame mounted entirely with olympic rivets so is that factory or have they been worked on before? One pane has almost 3 inches of water in it as well so I am afraid if it freezes here I will lose the whole window! What's the best way to get it apart? Resealed? Any thoughts?
