the right part makes all the difference

I wanted to post this to possibly reduce frustration in others replacing window hardware. I ordered the phillips window mechanism from Vintage Trailer Supply for my 66 safari to replace one that was broken. I love VTS and have ordered many things from them but this was just not right. It didn't look like the one I'd removed (close but not the same) and after many failed attempts to make it work with the parts provided (using washers, spacers, etc. - multiple times trying to fix it and ending up duck taping plastic over the hole), I ordered the same part from Inland RV. This one looked exactly like the one I'd removed and worked the first time I tried. This was one of the big original windows and it was a giant pain taking it into and out of the frame. Again, I love VTS but for this part I would not purchase them again. word to the wise! hope it helps.
