Shade removal

I've got a 2016 Flying Cloud and need to remove the window shades. The plastic end brackets seem permantly attached to wall. Any tricks to know before I try brute force?

Hi

The plastic end plugs pop out even when you *don't* want them to. They attach with two little "prongs" that snap into the cross bar. Be careful of the prongs when you pop them off. The issue isn't so much getting new caps. It's getting the remains of the "prong" out of the cross bar.

I will try again. How do you “pop out the plastic plugs” that cover the attachment screws? Jim

I don’t know if there is a correct way to do it, but I had one pop out when I missed the hold down hook and the shade slammed open.

From what I can tell, you should be able to take a small screwdriver or pocket knife and gently lever the plug out.

Alternatively, you could probably get a dowel that has a slightly smaller diameter and put some hot glue on the end, stick that to the plug, and pull it out that way. Not sure if that would work, but I’ve seen it done in other applications.
