Dark tinted Plexiglass rock guards cover the front window on all new Airstreams. Look closely at the photos on Airsteam's web site: http://www.airstream.com/product_lin...ssic_home.html

Check out this string. For my '75 it wraps around the windows all in one piece.

rockguard

On my trailer the front window wraps around the front of the trailer.would it be one piecesor three.I guess I was thinking about old rockguards that had a frame and look like coragated roofing.

The deep-wrap wing windows that were pioneered on the 1970s Argosy coaches are typically fitted with the three-piece deep-wrap rock guard. The side wings are attached with a lift-off-hinge arrangement with set-screw locking devices, and the center section is hinged at the top to open with adjustable side support arms. While the rock guards are a standard feature on the late model coaches, there was a time when they were optional equipment (this was true on all Argosy trailers pre-1980) and it seems that the rock guards were also an option for a time after the deep-wrap wing windows were introduced on the Airstream coaches. An installed example of the three-piece guard can be seen in the photo of my '78 Minuet (the center section is not standard as it had to be narrowed more than 1/2 foot to fit the narrower Minuet) -- I have also attached a photo that shows the deep-wrap wing window before the rock guard installation. Someithing to consider is that the only replacements for the deep-wrap wing windows are the later model deep-tinted style that may not be ideal if your coach happens to have non-tinted original wing-windows as my Minuet does - - this was a big factor in my decision to have the rock guard installed (along with the high cost of having replacement wing windows installed).

Good luck with your research!

Kevin

Not sure how far your windows wrap around. On our '75 they do not go back to the side. If you windows wrap further you'll need one of the new styles....
