Removing 'pebbling' on '78 Argosy windows?

I thank you for your patience and information, in advance. I've skimmed thread topics in the search function, but have not found what I'm needing. Some of the windows (plexiglas?) in our '78 Argosy have a clouding or pebbly effect which I remember reading about once upon a time, where someone recommended how to remove much of this in order to have a clearer window. If someone knows what solution will help remove this, thanks for sharing the information so we can really enjoy the bright open interior of our new cutie. ~G

The acrylic windows respond well to being treated like aircraft acrylic windows. The polishing and maintenance products will do wonders for the acrylic windows in our Minuets. I have sourced the products that I use on my Minuet from Aircraft Spruce. Among the products that I have used with good results are:The 210 Plus Plastic Scratch Remover lessened the impact of fine scratches and pits considerably on my Minuet. Clarity and overall appearance was greatly impoved with the NOUS 3 step process. These products are also wonderful for cleaning and polishing the rockguards on the front windows.

The one thing to remember with these acrylic windows is to avoid amonia-based window cleaners as they can increase the hazy appearance rather quickly.

Good luck with your Minuet - - I am certain that you will enjoy your Minuet travels!

Kevin

Hi Kevin, we have some scratches on the window protectors from the PO meeting up with some tree branches or leaves. Can you recommend one product or do these each need the other companion products and tell us how you achieve good results? I am concerned about putting more scratches in or making it more apparent than it is now. Thanks.

Kevin, once again you come to our rescue! I am constantly amazed at the fund of information you share with this forum. I knew there was a specialized cleaner solution to use to avoid additional damage, but I could not find it in my searches, and Bingo! You have the specific product we need to fix our pebbly windows, or at least improve them. Thank you, as always! ~G

The NOVUS products are kind of like the aluminum polishing products - - you work from the most abrasive to the least abrasive. I have, however, learned that there is nothing wrong with experimenting with the least abrasive to see if it will resolve the problem. I usually use micro-fiber towels to apply the polish (depending upon temperature, a slightly damp application towel will help to keep the polish from drying too quickly).

Aircraft Spruce also offers a solvent-based scratch repair, but I haven't tried it. My concern has been that it would change the color of the tinted rock guards.

Good luck with your project!

Kevin
