Removing bug screen from window

I have a 28 RBQ and I would like to remove the bug screen because we can't open door when the window is open since it would hit the door. This will give us a better view out the window without the screen. Is removing the screen as easy as loosening the screws circled in red and pulling out the screen?

Yup, it's that easy. You'll have to remove the gray lift handle knobs too. But, IIRC, the skin edge is not trimmed out under the screen frame. You'll want to be creative with a trim ring.

It's as simple as that ...remove the lift handle knobs before removal....

Can you just pull out the rubber spline that holds the screen in, then remove screen material, leaving the frame??

While we are on the topic of screens, does anyone know how to replace the screen in the lower section of the screen door. Appears the PO had a small dog that did some scratching on the screen.
My AS is in storage at this time, but I recalled looking at it and not seeing any rubber insert (spline?) or simple means of removing the old to accommodate the new.

There is a spline for every window and the screen door. I replaced all my screens with finer mesh to keep out the no seeums. Only the roof vents and rear hatch if you have an EB, TB or Pendalton, can't be done easily.

Thanks. Will look again when I get it out of storage, not sure how I would have missed it, but will be nice to get it fixed up before our next trip in May.
Plan to replace the front hatch vent with a Fantastic fan this spring, so will hopefully also get the no-seeum screening in.

Replacing the screen is an easy task. An FYI, it also fairly easy to add an 1/8th inch thick piece of Acrylic or Lexan to convert the screen door opening into a "storm door."

I used small plastic tabs to hold the clear material over the screen so they can be removed during the summer months but use the "storm door" approach the remainder of the year to allow a great deal more light into the interior without experiencing a temperature change when the exterior door is left open and latched to trailer side.
