Remove/replace wing window on a 77 Safari
My curb side wing window is shattered, it appears to have been hit by a rock, probably from my or my neighbour's lawnmower. Anyone have any advice on how to remove the broken unit and replace it? I have ordered the new window and a new center spline as well. Obviously I need to drill out the original rivets but then what? Is that spline held in by Vulcam/caulking only? Do I try and cut the caulking between the old window and the spline? Cut caulking on both the center window and the wing window and maybe ease the whole spline out and replace? Are there interior fittings or trim that has to be removed first?
Hoping to get some first hand advice as I know if I just attack it like I often do there will be bad things happening. Bad things I'd like to avoid if possible. It is a 1977 Safari Land Yacht, double axle, 23 ft.
TIA Lorry
