Original Screens on '66 Caravel
Does anyone know what the material was for the screens on older Caravels?
Thanks
Jerry

Hi!
Hi Jerry,
Sorry I can't help you, as mine is a 68, but I just wanted to say Hi since you also have a Caravel, and are right here in WA

Jerry.
Fiberglass and plastic screening is now used.
It's available in "solar" screening, in a dark charcoal color.
The solar material reduces the heat load in the trailer.

screens
I noticed that I just have one screen and need to make 5 more. Where do I get the framing for the screens for my '67 safari...or a good cheap substitute???

The old style screen framing has not been avaialble from Airstream for years.
Try to find some from a totalled trailer, or, have some made as best you can.

I was afraid of that!!! From the lack of info anywhere on the net. There is always velcro and hot glue!!! I did that on my old sailboat.
I just want something to keep out the bugs...not pass a beauty contest!!!
I'm calling in an order to you today!!! I was in LA and Long Beach last week and wondered if you had a showroom but I didn't think so.

Lexxy.
We are a Parts and Service Center, only.
However, we would have been happy to show you the shop, etc.
Maybe next time.
