Acquired an original front window rock guard for my 64
Caravel. After some sprucing and minor repair it is ready for installation. However... I'm not real familiar with its fitment. When I hold it up to the window it appears that it doesn't close completely, the triangular brace mounts that go to either side of the window prevent the complete closure, about an inch or two. I see no other problem, and other than the gap it seems correct because it's parallel to the glass. Is it correct? Do they have a gap? Do I install the hinge above the drip rail (I don't really want to pull the drip rail)?
