I was also thinking of replacing a couple of windows. I have a
1964 Safari with jalousie windows. Most of the panes in one of them have been replaced with warped plexiglass, leaving huge gaps plus a broken opener. I'm not a fan of these windows here in Oregon. They let too much airflow through.
The most practical thing(in terms of time and money) is probably just to repair them and live with their shortcomings.
I'm curious if anyone could share an experience of replacing jalousie windows with a solid pane? From comparing my airstream to photos of other people's Safari's of the same vintage it looks like my jalousie windows are wider than solid pane windows. I understand that jalousie windows were an option, not standard. Does anyone know if the window types would be interchangable?
