Im pulling the window frames on my 61 Tradewind and I noticed the bottom of the frames have'nt been sealed just the top and sides . Was this done so the window can breath and when I replace it should I seal all 4 sides.
Usually that's done so any moisture that does get in can drain out. At least that's true on buildings, I'd assume it's true for AS, but others would know for sure.

The windows that I have removed have had no sealant between the frames and the skin, just a foam gasket with the inside sealed. On replacement I cleaned off all the old sealant and foam then reinstalled the frames "wet" with sealant between the frame and skin around the whole perimeter of the window. I see no reason that the bottom should be allowed to breath. Water would wick up into an unsealed seam and eventuality cause corrosion in the seam. IMHO
