Jalousie windows stuck

Hi,
My jalousie windows are stuck .

Has anyone unstuck jalousies? Have already replaced the crank mechnisms.
Rivets that connect pane holders to the uprights are rusty. Has anyone found a lubricant that frees movement and keeps movement free? Has anyone drilled out old rivets and replaced them?

I found Howe's Oil was best at freeing rusted parts. I have also replaced several rivets on windows, it's not too tough. I used a thin shim to keep the rivet loose enough to pivot.

Thanks Terry. That was my next question.... about the spacing to enable a pivot.

I see that Terry has replaced rivets on the jalousie clips.. I have the same problem, so what kind of rivets were used? I'm thinking of using 1/8" aircraft style, but I'd have to buy an offset tool for the rivet gun. Any other alternatives?

the wall of enclosing the clips gets in the way of using a normal pop rivet gun or normal impact tool.

I thought of putting a shim between part at rivet time to keep the joint free to rotate, good to hear that Terry used the same technique.

I used boeshield on my mechanism. Fortunately, mine were in good condition. Boeshield is a waxy based lubricant used to keep tablesaws from rusting. I also use it on router bits. Spray, and lightly wipe it off. Doesn't have a smell like wd40, but it can stain something like zolatone.
