Hinge above front window

I can't seem to find what this hinge was previously used for. Does anyone have some insight ? It's just above the front window of a 1969 Tradewind.

Here's a pic of it.

Ahh I never realized that they had the ability to be moved out of the way on a hinge. That's great! Thanks.

Home made rock guard at that. Probably plexiglass riveted to the hinge. Easy diy solution.

Late 60's, early 70's AS had a one piece clear rock guard that covered all of the front windows. Check out some old advertisements to see some examples.

Cheers,

John
