Hehr windows
On my 1954 Whale Tail I have enlarged the curb side closet to accommodate a toilet, turned out great and looks original, but I would like to add a window. The other windows are Hehr, 9" overall height, 6 3/8 glass size, does anyone know where I might buy such a window? width does not matter, as I plan on narrowing it to 12".

Watch Ebay, Airstream and Vintage trailers. The windows were used on many trailer brands in that time frame.

Picture?
I have a bunch of old camper stuff around. Can you share a picture of the Hehr style window you are searching for?

The window and backframe can be fabricated from flat stock .025/.032 aluminum. 2024T3 won't work, it's too hard and will crack but 3003 is widely available and works nice. I've made a few of these. The extrusion and cranks are available from Vintage Trailer Supply. The rolled hinge is a horrible part to create, consider using a piano hinge hidden on the backside.
Contact a local sheet metal shop and see if they can cut/fold up the pieces for you by copying one of your existing windows.

hehr window
I am posting pics of the existing windows, I believe they are called "Hehr standard". I have considered reproducing one, but it will be so much easier to narrow a larger one. I have an aluminium tech that could cut them apart and you would not be able to find the seam!

I think I have a handle on some 6x18 New Old Stock
I'm planning on the same remodel. These have the lever pull out, not crank. I'm pretty certain these are the model used for the year you're looking.

IwhT about doing a sky light if you can’t find one. I am also trying to change things up a bit and thought about how dark it would be. My idea was to put a sky light in?

HiHo, could I trouble you for some photos of your windows, the process of making them or any advice?
I've been thinking that I could make them with my Panbrake. I tried folding up my pattern cut out of paper, I think it'll work?
I'd have them laser cut to get the internal curves nice and neat....

Your pattern looks great. I don’t have my notes here for the details but yes, a pan break is required and most importantly, the bend sequence. Work it out on your paper pattern because if you get it wrong, the final bends won’t fit into the break.
I used the break to form the 180 degree folds also. Make the first 120 bend, remove the part and insert backwards in to break with it’s mouth wide open. Then clamp closed the break to complete the fold

Anyone have any luck sourcing those rivets that hold the hinged to the frame?
