Hi,

There maybe a thread on this , but I can't find it .

Thanks,

The gummy crap is butyl. There is a current thread on fogged windows another one on replacing film and double pane windows and one I started several weeks ago on Taking apart double pane windows.

It's labor intensive and involves taking the window out, then the window frame apart, then the panes of glass apart and then reassembling. Hoping you don't break the glass in the process. For those with a unrestricted budget and no masochistic traits you can still buy new replacements.
