Fuzzie bug guards

we are trying to replace the bug guards on out 69 tradewind and they had the steel version prior to this with a prehistoric looking seal under it. the plastic ones we ordered from out of doors mart don'nt match the current ones. Any suggestions on installing the new plastic ones?

If you have the plates for the lift arms that are about an inch wide and 8 inches long, you simply lay them over the original frame, and fasten them in place.

You can use pop rivets for fasteners.

Will try that, cleaned one off, and reapplied the plastic one, looks ok, but additional holes to cover.

Arodriguez60, any chance you could post some pics of before and after? I'm interested in the bug guard myself and would like to see how the look 'in the real world'.

Ron.

The bug guard was used on the goofy 1979 windows.

Just so happens that it works great for the crazy 1969 windows, too.

Part # 34727.

Sounds Like a Sports Caster

Fuzzy Bug guard sounds like a good name for a sports caster.

will do, we are very close to the complete renovation, I personally like the result of taking off the old and adding the new plastic ones-I travel for work so it won't be till next weekend-T

1969 was an odd year, we have not been able to find pics of our breed of Tradewind. Love the thought of having something out of the box. We have a front and curb side goucho, some models have this but reversed. I am compiling a photo journal of our transitions-can't relate our enthusiasum enough, sort of sounds like "Band Camp" moments. We are prepping for dead horse three for the four cornders unit in feburary, hehe can"t wait for the margarita ball!

I must admit, I'm intrigued because I am so confused. Does this go on the tilt out awning windows or lay in the track for slider windows or how does it work/function?

They go over the hole in the screen that the window lift arms go thru.
