"I used Silicone spray. Let dry and repeated. Three weeks later... dust and still needed my 'dog tag' to break the tight seal between the original gasket and glass. The dust gets into the end corners."

You seem to have a tight seal all around the window. Are you sure that the dust isn't coming from somewhere else in the cabin, not the window? Dust is settling in the corners because that's where the low pressure is. Have you checked for small cracks in window corner frame? Or cracks in the welds in the corners that would be open to atmosphere? Dust will tend to move the towards differential low pressure at the rear of the rig. When traveling in rain have you also noticed wet spots in the corners where dust normally collects? If not, then the point of entry for the dust must be elsewhere and this is just where it exits. I would now look for exit holes underneath or near where the dust collects and plug them.----Hugh

True Grit is an attitude... NOT interior dust

Zapper.... good ideas.

When we return home with the Dust Clad Trailer and Tow Vehicle the Blue Beacon Truck Wash is open 24 hours. For $41.50 they have six or more guys with high powered wands to take weeks of dust, bug kill and cow dung off the Airstream.

No water leaks. We had a big 'cloud burst in Montana' with semi melted hail and heavy rain as we were coming out of Yellowstone Park on the last trip. No water in the trailer, but not enough to give us a Soft Water Washing, either.

(NO dents as the hail were reduced to large slush balls.)

Nancy wipes down the interior of the Airstream once camp is set and at home. A fine dust, which is expected. The dust in the rear window collects much like the fine dust in the outside Refrigerator compartment. It 'binds' together and you need to actually rub it and break up this stuff before the vacuum will catch it. This is a fine dust.

Leave Clean and organized, Return, Clean Up the Chaos... and Leave Clean on the next trip. Dirt, Dung and BUG gut on the front of the Airstream are a record of our travels. Crickets this year... Birds come to the campsite for the Buffet!

After 14 years of towing our Airstreams, the 2006 had fender wells that vacuumed dust off the roads. Airstream Jackson Center found the cause, trimmed the fender wells and sealed the majority of the problem. Dust collected inside, onto the interior floor.

The 2014 was 'nearly dust proof' from the eight years with the 23 foot Safari, experience.

Does it affect our lives? No. But if things like loose screws, popped rivets and dust accumulations can be minimized... I do not need to shower and after weeks Off the Grid, our Airstreams have been upgraded to handle future trips.

True Grit is an attitude... dust is not included.

Glad to hear no hail dents. In 2017 Airstream in Denver CO got hit hard. Huge numbers of AS, most of their inventory damaged with basket ball sized dents, busted skylights. Very sorry sight. AS’s don’t do well with hail. Hope they recovered.

Well, well.... and wheel wells.

"Dust Dust Dust" started by Lumatic under General Interior Topics. 5-16-2016

Dust is nearly three years... old on the surface of the Earth. It appears. I am a late comer.

"Dust coming in the rear door of Basecamp" by hawksbil in Base Camp Forum.

Rear toilet turning into dust. General Repair Forum. (Never mind, not the same topic.)

Zapper... we lived west of Castle Rock, Colorado. Our Airstream in our RV Garage. Hail occurred much like finding weeds in your yard. Hail would hit during the daylight hours and the middle of the night.

Yup lots of dust enters that rear window. It doesn't help that it's a bit loose, but it needs to be otherwise I can't get the window closed. Even now it takes several tries of letting the window "fall" in order to get the catch to engage at the right moment. Otherwise it takes 2 people to close it. One in and one out. That fine dust will find it's way in anywhere. Underneath it enters any spot it can. It's amazing how many places I see it along the floor after an hours drive down a dusty dirt road. Even trying to drive slow doesn't help.

Cleaned up our 27 foot International.

Nancy was working under tables, in closets, along the floor and under the mats in the hallway.

I cleaned out the Refrigerator compartment outside. Real dusty... which was GOOD.

Fairplay, Colorado has the BEST DIRT and DUST.

My neighbor said I must have $100 worth of gold dust mixed with the black magnetite. I figured about $1. I just might make a deal around $50.

Check your DUST. Gold Dust can be found in Colorado. I have the proof. I scanned this vial twice so you can see there are gold flakes/dust.

Thalweg from Buffalo camped near Fairplay with us several years ago. He cannot make up anything better than this.

British Columbia, Yukon have gold dust. Alaska has gold dust. My dentist's office has... well recycled gold dust.

Our 18 year old International does not collect dust from our Small Back Window - just the refrig - so I just shake the dust off my sandals and move on!

Canadian dust does not exist in Montana, Wyoming, Utah or Nevada. Come on down the the lower 48 when the Border Opens. The Forests are in the way and the snow is around longer than we have Summers.

You are obviously near the border. I see Palm Trees and could be a trash can. I need reading glasses, also.

We can work something out just going to Utah... maybe the Red Desert of Wyoming... but WE WILL get you dusty. Bring a Leaf Blower. Ray likes to help friends...[/QUOTE

Or...maybe you can just come up to Canada!
