Building a Herhr window

Someone pulled out the rear window on my newly purchased 1957 Airstream Overlander, and put in a house AC unit. The original window was not included when I purchased the Airstream. So now I have to fabricate a new window. I am going to try to make an exact copy of the original style Herhr window. I have purchased a piece of 2024 t3 aluminum and made up a cardboard mock up of the bends that I have to make to fabricate the window. It is my understanding that the rear window has some sort of escape hatch or something on the rear window. I have no idea what that looks like. Does anyone have any tips or ideas for fabricating this window? Or pictures of the rear escape hatch setup? Thanks

'57? Sweet!

The Photo Archives at VintageAirstream.Com may help. There are several sets of pictures to choose from.

I've built several of these windows, the T3 temper is going to be a bear to get the outer fold without cracking.
I used 3003, it polishes up pretty good, the slight color difference isn't noticeable since its a standalone piece and just a narrow ring around the glass.

Vintage trailer supply has the extrusions that go vertical up the window and the cranks slide in. The steel pieces that hold the openers isn't too bad to replicate except making the slot. A hand grinder with a cut off wheel will work if you don't have a mill.

The bend sequence is pretty critical so you don't work yourself into a corner.

A miss step with a polisher will have you starting over...
