Ahh, the winter weather broke today and we hit 65 degrees in Alabama today. Went ahead and booked our reservations at the campground for Memorial Day!!! Now it's time to work on the Airstream again.
My current project is replacing all of the rubber gaskets around the Air-o-Lite window panes. I ordered up the gasket from the vintage trailer company but I am finding it very hard to get the gasket into the aluminum frame and then even harder to slide the lexan (1/8 thickness) into both. Does this make sense?
I think I read some months ago that someone actually boiled the gasket to loosen it up and I did try that but to no avail. Perhaps one of you have run into this and would be so kind to share some insight. Would appreciate the input greatly!!!
I know, right! I was wondering when I would eligible for the coveted 3rd rivet. Now I feel special The project is stalled at the moment but i'll post up some pics when I make some headway. Perhaps I'll sleep on it and come up with a solution in a dream if I'm lucky. Either way it will be done by Memorial Day.
