Acrylic side window as temp fix
On of my side windows was shattered by a falling tree branch. Has anyone attempted to fabricate a temporary replacement window out of an acrylic sheet? The thread on making a storm door using acrylic spawned this idea. Has anyone tried using their old window frames with an acrylic replacement sheet inserted between the existing seal? What the thickness of the original glass?
Oh, and why are these replacement windows so darn expensive? I broke my parents huge double pane picture window when I was younger...it was about the same price to replace if I recall.
