Hello Frank's Trailer Works. I think my 66 has the screen door "nub" that you are looking for. It is a silly looking piece that is pop riveted on to the cast square. It looks rather crude so I wonder if it is original Airstream or a previous owner's repair.
I will take my camera down to the garage tomorrow and take a picture of it. It just may help you. And that would please me!
Well you won't be too impressed. Here are photos of what is stuck on my 66 Trade Wind. it almost looks like a scrap piece of exterior molding. You can see it has a "negative rake" so the roller follower on the screen door tends to catch.
But it works. Except the beagle can push it open and then terrorize the campground, especially BBQ grills. So we have a dead bolt too.
