When I bought my 1963Sovereign I noticed that the louvered window had been siliconed shut, any idea's how to get the silicon out without scratching or breaking the glass,I realy would like to use the window.
There is a chemical silicon "loosener." I've seen others here on the Forums mention it, but don't know its name.
If worse comes to worst, try using a heat gun to soften it and scrape it off with a 1" putty knife. With reasonable care and a smooth edge, steel will not scratch glass.

Just hold a rag soaked in Mineral Spirits against the silicone. It'll soften & you can scrap it off with a wood or plastic scraper.
