I am ready to install a new piece of tempered glass in the center front window. I don't remember any glazing putty on the old glass and am wondering if I should install the glass as is or if I should use some type of putty or sealant to prevent leaks. I do have new outer seals from VTS. It was hard removing the broken glass, so I don't want to do it twice. thanks, Will in Utah
We used the glazing seal from VTS. But first with the frame laying on a table, we set the glass in place centered. Then I ran a bead of polyurethane around the perimeter edge of the glass before placing the aluminum retaining strips and palnuts. I just thought there should be something more than the glazing seal. Good luck, Bubba
Will, also give us the VIN number of your 52 FC and we’ll list it on the CaptainJones’ Flying Cloud Registry. It’s a good list showing 1950 thru 1963 FC owners and the state they reside. Thanks, Bubba
