why doesn't my door close?

Every thing looks ok but the latch doesn't quite latch. I can't see how there is any way to adjust the hinge and the frame seems intact. any thoughts?

I have a 69 Overlander

We have a 2004 Safari and had a problem with our latch not working properly. I made the mistake of using the stabilizing jacks to level the trailer. It caused the frame to bow just a bit and therefore the latch would not engage correctly. Now we use blocks under the wheels. Works better. This may not be your problem, but it's an easy place to start. Good luck.

i don't think you have jacks. stabilizers are NOT to be used to lift the trailer as they will bend the body. i believe they lift the body and not the frame.

What ever you do, DO NOT loosen the door hinges. Once loose, it is a real pain to retighten.

For a 69 model, the striker plate is supposed to be a "nylon" striker pocket.

The original 1969 door striker pocket was nylon.

A metal pocket was used starting in 1970.

Is there any "wear" on the striker bolt ?

The bolt and plate or pocket must be in good condition. If not, the door will not proper seal, when closed.
