Sticky Door

Thank you for helping us with our water pump problem now we have one more question. Our main door needs a slight push to close properly, and the door appears not to be square within the door frame. Our question is can we adjust the door within the door frame. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Could be several things. the most likely would be a worn hinge. With the door near closed lift up on it and see how much it shifts. If it appears to be enough to make the door close properly then tile to investigate why. Worn hinge pin is propbalby the most common.

Now it cane be much worse things. The door had to be slammed on our 59 to close. After replacing the floor it closes very easy. Hardly any effort at all. you can put slinght pressure and make it latch now. Seems the rotten floor caused the body to be out of alignment.

Probably just a problem with the hinge. InlandRV.com should be able to help you out with parts on that new of coach.

Is it the main door that is causing the issue or the screen door? On my '78 Minuet, the screen door was causing interference that resulted in difficulty in closing easily. Replacing the nylon bushings in the screen door hinge as well as the lubricating the spring loaded latching mechanism on the screen door helped tremendously. I also had some minor deformation in the door that wasn't entirely apparent until the screen door was repaired (it had evidently either blown open in transit or been caught by a gust of wind while parked) a few adjustments from my Airstream dealer solved the entire problem very quickly.
