Screen door sliding plastic panel, bug guard

I recently got a 78 Argosy Minuet 6.7 Metre. THe sliding panel that keeps the bugs out when using the screen door/lets the outer door handle fit when closed, is broken. I looked online and found a replacement at Inland RV. It was $18.25 and you have to have a $25 minimum order. The shipping was high, too. Does anyone know of another source for this part? Thank you.

Those are a pretty standard item. I know that ODM has them. You could try Camping World too. They need to be trimmed down a bit to fit the AS doors.

I made one out of a piece of fiberglass sheet. It isn't concaved for the exterior door handle clearance. But all that means is that the little door has to be open to close the exterior door. Not a big deal.

Thank you both for the great ideas. Since my husband is handy, maybe he'll give it a shot. If not, we'll try ODM.

Do you flex the plastic to get it to fit into the grooves in the door frame, or is there another trick?

You flex the plastic or fiberglass to install it. If I remember correctly measure the opening top to bottom then add 3/8" to that dimension. Of course the horizontal direction is not that critical, it just has to cover the opening with some overlap when closed. There are some photos that show the small door in one of the threads about screen door latches. It is in the Argosy trailer forum I believe. Look for my handle.
