New keys for door lock

Where can I get new keys for Air Stream? Where can I get the blank for the exterior door? My hardware store said they could make a new one if I could get a blank.

Hi

If you have a modern trailer you can get the blanks from JC. Just how far back "modern" goes .... it depends a lot on just what you happen to have.

CH 751 keys are pretty popular for older units. Blanks are available on the internet.

If Jackson Center doesn’t have what you need the Airstream Life store also sells blanks: https://store.airstreamlife.com/coll...ntry-door-keys

Had to do the same thing! You can order the keys from the Airstream store. There should be a number on each key that will help them determine the correct key or blank key for you!

Don't know about 2000 keys, but TriMark key sets for my 2010 were not only are difficult to find, they're hard to cut accurately so don't ask your hardware store to cut, take to a locksmith to cut the blanks you obtain.

Airstream keys

Call TriMark 1-800-431-8616 and give them your trailer year and model, as well as the number that is on your key, and they will send you an already cut key using the number code on your key for $4 or $3 for an uncut blank plus shipping which is nominal. They are in Iowa and very fast on delivery. Airstream did not have blanks for my Nest trailer yet, so I called TriMark directly and got great service.

I think they are Schlage Key s and you can get new ones made for your door lock if you know the number from them or have one that still works to get a second one made...

If you don't have the keys... here is what you can do... Airstream has a build list.. i.e everything they put into your unit... and they have the model and S/N of the units... this includes the LOCKS...

Thus if you have the orginal paper work for the trailer.. it should be on a card that came with it... if not... call airstream and get them to fax or email you a copy of the build list card that they should have on file... when they built the trailer...

On this then it has the KEY code... i.e you can take that to the locksmith and for a couple of bux... they can make a key from it... and they should work... I did... after the guy I got mine from .. said he didn't have any of the keys... for the door lock... but, we found the build list in the owners manual stuck in their.. and took it to the locksmith.. he made two keys... and a master... and they all worked... cost was around 30 bux for all...

If you don't have the key code.. or key... then the locksmith that deals in the manufacturs key... can come use his tools to find the number... by picking it...

...but... its real expensive... about 150 bux to have him come do that... So I would try and find the key code or get it from Airstream... as you only need the vin no... to get them to look up the trailer and get you the info you need...

Good luck...

Ditto ☝️
Definitely use an experienced locksmith.

Question Airstream Service Store

Attached photo shows two keys.

One is the original designated TA055. It goes to the main deadbolt lock.

The second, is the Tri/Mark Key KS970, I received after a personal call to the store. Locksmith told me it is still not a match.

Sent email jpg to dealer. No answer.

Any ideas?

On my 2013 25FB Flying Cloud, I have a square head KS970 that works in the squarish door lock. The deadbolt key is a Trimark round head KS301.

I ordered blanks from the Airstream Store and took them to True Value Hardware where they cut them. True Value even had blanks so I didn’t need to wait months for Airstream to get the blanks in stock. I tried the big box hardware stores but they weren’t able to do it. Try a small hardware store.

Thumbs up Success

The Tri/Mark KS970 key was successfully keyed to match the original TA055 for the deadbolt lock.

Two experienced locksmith said it would not work. Convinced one to cut the two Tri/Mark KS970 keys.

They worked.

Did you ever get your door keys copied or replaced? It is now Jul 2020 and Airstream is out of the blanks for the door. In your photo and message you had the deadbolt misnamed. The Trimark is the deadbolt, at least on my 2019 new trailer. I can not find anyone so far who has the blanks for the smaller square door lock. The main door key, not the deadbolt. It does have a TA _ _ _ id on it. But the manufacturer is a mystery. I think it maybe a Global link or an Ilco.
I am just trying to make a couple of spares.

See my post #17. Have them (locksmith cut the Tri/Mark Key KS970. Had same trouble with locksmiths.

Upon advice of Beboplu, I just called TriMark 1-800-431-8616 and Abby helped me out straight away. They’ll be sending me spares for my 2008 deadbolt and entry locks cut from the code on the keys. $4 per plus a $10 service fee (orders under $100) and shipping. No muss, no fuss. I’ll let you know how they work when they arrive. - Brad
