The original door lock for the 1970 to 1977 Airstreams is called a "KT" lock.

They are expensive to repair and cost almost $500.00 new, as they are an Airstream only part.

There is a "kit" available that requires a plate on the door, but is not expensive.

These door latches were made by KT & are obsolete now. They go for about $500 for NOS & $250 for a corroded one without a key on ebay. Plan on spending some $, or you can "fudge" a patch on the door & install a modern latch. You could also try Ryan at www.rvrevive.com . He buys wrecked Airstream's & parts them out.
Good luck with your search,
Colin

KT lock

Please be advised that the KT lock, is still available from Airstream parts, and some dealers routinely stock them, as well as the parts for them.

Is your KT latch completely missing? They can be repaired but they still have inherent problems.
