Need a 6" to 8" high plastic slider for our 1976 screen door.

We have a friend who has massive hands. When he puts his hand on the plastic slider it cracks in several places. This will be the third slider he has inadvertently broken. Guess we should get another friend with normal size hands but that still does not solve the problem of locating a 6" to 8" (not 12") plastic slider for our screen door.

Ebay has large sliders listed at $10. Amazon, Inland and Vintage list the 12" high slider at around $25. Looks like they no longer carry a 6" to 8" plastic slider.

Before I am forced to buy a 3D printer, does anyone know where I can find a 6" to 8" high clear plastic slider for our screen door?

Not sure a 3D printer one would hold up very well. I was looking for one in that size last spring. Everything I found was out of stock, so I ended up making one out of a scrap of aluminum sheet I had laying around. Made a simple wood buck and hammered it into shape. It came out pretty decent and should last forever.

I've been looking for the small gizzi for two years or so. The cracks crawl slowly but eventually this thing was going to disintegrate. I took a roll of aluminum duct tape and covered the plastic with it. It looks OK and should hold for a while. Hopefully someone will produce another batch of the small gizzis in the next decade or two.
