Little spring loaded door keeper

How in the world do you get those little black, spring loaded door keepers off. Can't figure out how to get them off without breaking them. I need to replace one that has the tip broken.

Been there - done that.... you have to take the catch apart to re-rivet it in place and then reassemble the catch.

I searched on this forum when mine broke and found someone who posted pictures of each step - but I can't find it nowl. Here are a few posts though that do describe how to get them apart. I can't believe it worked, but it did!!!

Good luck --- if you have time & some patience, the google search function does work --- just gotta try a lot of different things. I searched different combinations of: black, screen, door, catch, latch, plastic.

latch

Use plenty of caution when you take that black plastic latch apart, as they have been obsolete for many years.

But, that same latch is a part of the 71 to 74 closet door latch assembly.

Interesting, how on one hand it's not available, but on the other hand it is, but at a greater cost.
