KT Door Lock

Has anyone painted their KT door lock?

We had flaking of the bronze? topcoat.
Husband sanded it and now we want to prime and paint.
Any helpful suggestions would be greatly apprecitated.
As in: kind/type of paint and primer.

I am not aware of any bronze in the KT lock assembly. Everything on the assembly in my trailer appears to be pot metal. The handle looks like brushed aluminum. The body of the assembly is painted to match the trailer.

Ya, I'm not sure what to call it, but you could take your fingernail and flick the top coating off and it was a 'gold' colored looking coating.
Still need to know what kind of silver paint I could use to make this lock look semi-normal.
