Keys for 1974 31 ft Soverign

I recently purchased a 31 ft Soverign and the seller could not find any of the keys. Does anyone know where I can get new keys? Were records kept for keys that will work on my trailer?

The compartment pop lock key and the water door key for 74s are standard. I got copies for mine at odmrv.com a couple of years ago, and I believe they still sell them.

The front door key may be a different story. A good locksmith should be able to make one for you. Unfortunately, replacement cylinders for the KT lock are now next to impossible to find, so a locksmith is probably going to be your best bet on that one.

Don't bother with the front door KT. The only thing those locks are good for are locking you out of the trailer when they vibrate into the locked position driving down the road. Install a deadbolt for the front door (and open up the KT handle set to disable the lock mechanism). All the other hatches, etc. have standard keys that can be made/duplicated at Ace Hardware. I found it odd earlier this spring when I had added some new (salvaged from other Airstreams) hatches, replaced locks on others, using things from different years and models, and still I have one key that opens *all* of the locks. It doesn't instill me with much faith in the security of any of these locks.
