Keeler lock alternative

Does anyone know if a KT lock cylinder (or any other alternative) can be modified to work in a Keeler handle? My handle mechanism works great but the key cylinder is shot, the key just spins. I've taken it a apart, cleaned it all up, but that didn't help.

Did you ever find a cylinder that works?

our Keeler works fine but we use the deadbolt to lock the rig. Since parts are so scarce for the Keeler I don't want to rely on it should something break. I know of a few who do the same.

Unfortunately I don't have a deadbolt on the outside, just a leaver with a mercury switch on the inside for travel. The motorhome is registered as a 1980 I think the exterior deadbolts/handle came later.

I'm still on the hunt for a Keeler replacement lock cylinder or something that works. In disassembling my lock cylinder I found its actually a Bargman that someone has drilled a pin into to actuate the lock cam but the pin must not have been positioned correctly because from inside the motorhome I couldn't lock or unlock.

I should have know it was a Bargman because the key had a big B on it and those cylinders seem about as hard and expensive to find as the Keeler.

They show as out of stock. I had heard someone bought up a big supply of cylinders and ended up slowly selling them on ebay at marked up prices.

Yeah, they bought out the stock that Vintage had left and marked them up from $29.95 to $99.99 on Ebay......I offered $29.95.

Unfortunately Keeler parts have turned into near unobtainium. Oddly enough these have shown up on ebay within the last few weeks. I have no idea who the sellers are but if you're looking for Keeler parts......

Keeler bolta and lock cylinder

Keeler latch assembly
