Inner door lock handle
I have a 1974 24 ft Argosy
The inner door lock handle was broken and I need a replacement.
I have been to Airstream Ohio and they have none.
I am using a screw at present but would like a proper handle.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Inner door handle repair, 71 Sovereign D
Hello everyone,
I bought a 31 foot Sovereign D, Land Yacht. I am remodeling it myself. I'm working on the inner door handle that spins around, but won't open the door. The handle outside works fine and locks great, no problem. I can get in, but it locks me in if I shut the door. I paid for a locksmith that said, there's nothing he could do, waste of money. I researched and could only find $700 door handles for my airstream. I don't need the entire door lock/handle changed, just the inside mechanism to catch on and open the handle from the inside. I was stuck inside once and had to crawl out the back window. Does anyone know what exactly I need to buy to fix the door handle from the inside that spins and won't open. I don't want to modify or change anything, because I don't know what I'm doing and would like to keep it close to its original state as possible to make it easier for me. I've been reading tons of stuff but not getting anywhere. Please help

Welcome to the Forums!
A picture would be very helpful. I expect you have a "KT" latch. If so, as I recall, there was the silver lever that rotates to actuate the strike, and a locking stud that shifts up and down. Does this sound familiar?
Vintage Trailer Supply used sells KT latch parts, but you are going to have to know what is broken before you can buy the right part. Beyond fixing your latch, unless you can find someone selling pieces of their old latch, you are going to have to either buy a whole KT latch assembly (stupidly expensive), or replace the latch with a modern one, which will require lots of surgery on the door and jamb, which it doesn't sound like you are ready to tackle.
good luck!

If you are wondering how to post a picture, hit "Reply" and the dialogue box you see should have a bunch of icons at the top. You need to click the "paperclip" icon, which allows you to attach photos. See the graphic below:

Can you take it apart and see what's broken? It might be a simple fix. Good luck!

Thanks Belegedhel, I was able to upload the photos after changing format:
The locksmith took it apart, but didn't put the handle back. The issue is the handle and what connects it is not working or catching, im not sure what I'm trying to say. It just turns all the way around.

OK, yes, you have a KT Latch. Looking at the pieces you have laid out, it is something of an incomplete picture, but it still looks like it may be a simple fix.
The first thing that looks obvious is that the round "shaft" with some upsets in it that the handle attaches to, should also be attached to the little "Paddle" that has a round hole on one end and a flat bit on the other end. When assembled, you move the lever, it turns the shaft, and the paddle pushes against a pin that is in the shaft attached to the strike. You can buy a replacement assembly of the shaft and paddle from VTS here:
https://www.vintagetrailersupply.com...lock-vts-2548/
If you can fit the two pieces mentioned above together and have them move in concert, then the next thing to look at is there should be a pin going through the shaft attached to the strike and the paddle pushes against it. if this pin is missing, broken or bent, then the latch won't function.
In the attached picture you can see an assembled latch, and you will see where the flat part of the paddle piece is pressed against the pin in the strike shaft.
good luck!
