Shower Door Sweep Repair
After 4 years, the shower door sweep on our 2017 International also ripped halfway thru. It took a while to locate but the Woodland Airstream link in a previous post was the correct replacement part source.
I also looked closely and the door seems to have sagged on the non-hinge side. It nearly rubbed on the door threshold, thus slicing the old door sweep. I solved that by placing a 6/32 (or maybe it was an 8/32) SS nut over the bottom hinge pin. Apparently, Airstream has a different fix for that and will send a "kit" if you contact them. It is a plastic block placed under the bottom hinge area of the door, that is screwed and caulked in. I chose a different approach described above.
It appears that use and continuous bumping while traveling accelerates the wear on the hinge side. For now our problem is solved. However, it may likely continue to wear. Hopefully we can go another 4 years before that happens. If it does, I may replace the hinges ... they are relatively cheap.
Others have criticized Airstream for a bad design, and have chosen to replace the door or heavily modify it. But this is a common door used in may RV applications, and is not an Airstream design. The door has serviced us well and it took more time to find the part number and order it than it did to fix it.
