Help Newbie Needs Door Handle '72 Sovereign

I bought my 31 foot trailer for an office but need a door handle for it as it has a very ugly and broken residential door handle. Looking for a kit or help to get it locked up with an original or aftermarket handle. I called Inland and they said my only choice was a new Original KT for 460+. I say "OUCH". Is there any other choice?

Thank you.

The original handle is made of solid unubtanium, which is why it is so expensive. Others may have some work around solutions, but I have never seen any. I will follow the post to see what they say. Fortunately, all three of the unubtanium handles on my rigs are in good condition, but for future reference ...

I have been corrected. I need the whole lock not just the handle. I apologize for the incorrect terminology. I will post pics asap to help others see what I need. Inland wanted 460+ for the whole lock not just the handle. Sorry for the misinformation.

There are other Airstream dealers that want significantly less than that amount for that lock.

Out of Doors Mart sells the original style lock as well. Still a tad pricey.

1970 to77 Airstream Lock : Out-of-Doors Mart!, More Airstream Parts on-line than anyone!

Check out this thread for an alternative from Inland:

Thank you so much for the help guys. The problem is that I dont know what it looks like when its all together. When I bought the airstream it was missing so I dont recognize if I saw it the right one. Im going to post a pic of my lock now and maybe someone will recognize what the new part is . . .
