Ugh, our 2019 FC RBT28 has developed the infamous "misaligned door" problem once again.
History:
- Door was fine upon delivery (of course...)
- After a couple trips it would no longer close, door pin not aligned to latch
- 'Fixed' by loosening door hinge screws and lifting door, tightened screws
- Worked itself loose again on a trip
- Took it to dealer, they 'fixed' under warranty - ok for a trip or two
- Door sagged again recently
- Loosened top hinge screws - Ooops! Now they won't tighten at all (nut fell off?)
I'm done dealing with Airstream service. As soon as you walk in dealer says "3 month lead time right now." They didn't fix it before, why would they fix it this time?
I'm going to try DIY. Anyone know what I need to take apart to see the back side of the door hinge bolts? Looks like there is a piece of aluminum trim going all the way around the door held by little sheet metal screws.
How does the rubber piece above the door come off?
Thanks
The damn hinge (
design problem IMO)
