Excella main door replacement
I'm restoring a 1991 25' Excella and I think I'm the third owner. It looks like one of the original owners replaced the original door because the label and aluminum looks newer than the main skin. Plus I can tell it has Olympic rivets. It also looks like the door slammed open at one point, maybe that's why it was replaced...IDK.
Anyway, the current door frame doesn't fit well at the top and the aluminum trim on the inside looks half a$$ fitted. The PO used a ton of silicone to fill the gap at the top of the frame to the main skin. It leaks pretty bad when it rains. It may be that the door gasket doesn't fit well either and that could be where it's leaking. I know how to bend the door to fit but either way the frame fitment looks like hammed dog *hit. How hard would it be to pull it off and massage it to fit my main hull? Anyone done this before?
