Entry Door Seals
Ok, in a previous thread (Warped Door), I mentioned that my entry door was warped and that the PO had put a big thick seal on the door all the way around the door and another thick seal on the coach around the top of the door jamb. I removed the seal that they had put on the coach and straightened my door. It was pretty easy using a 4x6 post and lateral preassure in various places. The door lines up perfectly with the screen door now which wasn't warped.
Now for the problem. My door still has a big thick white seal on it and that seal causes the top and bottom of the door to stick out. I don't want to rip that seal off until I find out what type of seal it's supposed to have.
My unit is a '72 29' International Land Yacht Ambassador. If someone with a similar unit could reply to this post with an attached pic of the original seal on the entry door or a link to the exact seal that it's supposed to have that would be great. Thanks!
Ben

Ben.
You can see a picture of the correct door gasket for your trailer on our web site.
The part # is 45295.
That same gasket, in 72 is used for the windows and access doors.

Does that attach with double-sided tape? Does it come on the seal when you buy it?

Ben.
Door gaskets that are attached with double sided tape on any Airstream product, is a guarantee of failure.
Use " 3M super weatherstripe adhesive" only.
That's the same material that the auto industry uses.
Contact cement is also useless for this purpose.
Airstream does have a door gasket with double sided tape for years later than yours. However, it must be installed with the #3M material.
