Entrance Door Fix
The screws on my entrance door hinges had loosened. I read on a previous thread that the nuts were inside the wall cavity. I drilled a 3/4" hole opposite each screw to gain access. There is a trim panel which will cover these holes.
With my son's help on the outside and me on the inside we tried to tighten those nuts. We worked on it for quite some time with no success. We eventually drilled out the old screws and replaced them with stainless bolts and a locking nut. This was a quick fix. Now the door is plumb in the frame and closes tighter than it had ever closed before. I still have the access holes if they ever loosen up again. If I did not have the trim next to the inside door frame I would have made a trim piece to cover those access holes, knowing that they are there is a relief if I need to tighten again.
