Doors

We purchased a 1979 Excella 500 last June. We have spent the past year updating some of the major systems. My husband went to shut the entry door and the hinge pin broke on the upper hinge. In doing some research I found a part number for a hinge pin (381552-100) and a c clip (381552-101) from an Airstream video showing how to replace the pin. I have not been able to locate the parts online and have a call in to the parts department of Colonial Airstream in NJ...no return call yet. Can anyone tell me where to find a replacement?

If you are not able to find the pin, Outofdoorsmart.com sells the entire hinge assembly for about $60. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Thank You!

Just wanted to express my thanks for your responses. I had a great conversation with the owner of Trailer Buff and learned a great deal about our Excella 500. He too directed me to Outofdoorsmart for the hinge pins. I spoke with Paul in the parts department and "yes" they had the hinge pin ($5.95 ea) and c clip ($1.60 ea) in stock and they are in the mail today for delivery...guess we can go camping for the 4th of July! These hinge pins work for Airstreams from 1972 to present day and the cost incurred sure beats replacing the entire hinge. For those of you looking for parts, Outofdoorsmart does not have everything on the website so call them directly to find a part. The owner of Trailer Buffs swears by Outofdoorsmart for parts and customer service. He even mentioned a couple of places to avoid based on his personal experience. He is closing his trailer restoration business for many reasons and has a lot of vintage trailers for sale "as is" if your looking for a project give him a call at 434-361-2500. He is located in Afton, VA. My hubby and I are happy campers!!!
