Unhappy Door Seal Types ???

Hello Folks

I have spent the last two days aligning our bent door as per the good instructions by a number of you folks. I got it back to the original shape and looked good until I installed the new door seal. Now the door is a quarter inch out from being flush with the frame. The new A/S seal seems to thick. I stopped at a friend place tonight and had a look at his 72 Argosy. His door was flush and has the original seal that was very different from the one I installed on my "73" 23 ft Safari.

His seal was 'L' shaped where my new seal has two blades coming off it at an angle. My new seal is like the one I took off and I am wondering if it was the wrong one and was the reason the door did not fit flush and pulled out at the top and bottom???? Any info is appreciated.

Wayne.
The double lip gasket was used on the doors from 64 to 73. In 74 the gasket changed.
I will be gone until Wednesday, but if you could e-mail a couple of photos, I will try to help you when I return.

Door Seals

Andy

Thnxs Andy...
We too are heading north near Algonquin til Wednesday with the trailer. Will see if I can get some pics of our door. The door looked so good before I put that *#@#@$%^& gasket on. I just seems too thick. Anyway it will keep the rain out on our trip.

Unhappy Door seals

Just went through that. My door was out about 1/4 inch top & bottom before and after I installed the same new double lip seal that you installed. I'd like a flush door but the cure may be harder than It's worth.
