Door fixed

After much trepidation, I have taken on the door repair. It appears that a previous owner expeienced the "loose door at highwy speed mishap" It has haunted me since purchase. I purchased trailer at a tag sale with no real idea of what I was getting into. The previous owner had rigged door with a brace to
compensate for break, so it was not apparent how bad the damage was. When I removed the brace I realized that the frame was badly damaged. In my mind I pictured a mass of fractured pot metal held together with sealer behind the skins. I considered replacing the door, but found them rare and expensive.
My repair cost about $250 with welding and misc.

Door fixed 2

As the pictures show, I drilled rivets to remove door then made cradle to preseve shape for welding. I first used 2x8 fir but that twisted before I brought to my welder. I remade with ac plywood. After welding I used grinder with flap sander which I loaded with wax to prevent loading. Did first pass polishing on bench and then bucked skin to frame. I replaced Knob and deadbolt which required patching over previous holes.
