Door and compartment keys

I have just acquired a 1972 Argosy 26 ft trailer It has no keys for the door or compartments. How do I go about getting some, are they available? I have heard the are the same for most models... Any input?

All,

Compartment keys are standard and can be ordered from any Airstream dealer or from online sources. Outofdoorsmart.com, an Airstream dealer, has them on their web site for convenient ordering. The baggage doors, water door, and battery doors typically all have different keys.

The door keys are different for each trailer so the choice there is to visit a local locksmith and have keys made or to replace the lock cylinder since the new one will come with suitable keys.

Steve: I had an '83 310 Motorhome and the locks and keys were pretty much the same as the ones used on the Trailers of the same years. The pop out latch used for the compartments was the same as those use on the trailers. The water fill was the same one used on the trailers. The main door lock probably was different, I am not sure, but the deadbolt lock on my '83 was a Schlage and used a Schlage blank.

A friend's '81, 270 was similar in lock use like the '81 trailers.

No guarantees of course. Andy at Inland may be able to tell you more.

The Key chart for airstream is not necessarily good for Argosy as most of the locks are different than airstream.
