Question Deadbolt replacement for Bargman?

I am restoring a 1967 Caravel. Looking for a less expensive than the original Airstream door lock that seem to be $400 plus. Is there a deadbolt or some safe door lock that I can use. I am ok not authentic. Especially hold the door shut while trailering?

I do have some metal skills.

If your Bargman needs attention I can rebuild it. I would also add a deadbolt to the door if you are capable. I have 20 years rebuilding Bargman locks. Send me a private message and I will be glad to help.

Hello, one of the best things I did during our '68 refurb was to install the "long bolt" deadbolt lock from Vintage Trailer, total peace of mind.
Good luck, Mark D

Rick, will do. I have several parts that came with the trailer. Will corral them, make a picture and see if you can make me a good one! I would like to have authentic, but I am on a budget.

Will this somehow fit with a deadbolt?

Or would this setup take care of my problem?
