You can get a new tumbler from Inland RV.

I have been locked out one time too many and I don't trust my Keeler lock to open with the key.

I use a keyed hasp instead of a deadbolt. If you google Keyed Hasp and you will find several choices.I have a Stanley.

A deadbolt installation will require drilling through the door jam. Early 70s are cast pot metal. I have been told drilling through the jam may weaken it causing a crack. Fixing it would not be easy or cheap.

My son's 69 Globetrotter has the old Bargman lockset. We removed the locking mechanism in the Bargman as he had been locked IN once. The lock had worn and failed.

Then we installed an emergency exit out the back window (just a loose screen spline tail with a piece of red tape on it) and we installed a deadbolt. I prefer the deadbolt as it makes the door very secure while towing. I did have to create clearance in the screen door so you could lock the deadbolt from the inside.

This 69 has the cast door frame. I hope it doesn't crack. The deadbolt lock is working for us so far.
