Caravel22FB3, we had a similar situation where you had to push on the door to turn the deadbolt.
The bolt part that extends is likely bent out of the correct position and can be straightened.
Try this: With the door open, extend the deadbolt. Looking straight on to the extended bolt, see if it’s straight or bent one way or the other. If it was extended and someone attempted to close the door, it would be bent towards the outside.
You can take a Vicegrip or crescent wrench and bend it slightly in the opposite direction. This is how our dealer fixed ours.
If you’re not sure which direction it needs to go, apply an oil crayon or even lipstick to the end of the bolt, close the door and rotate it several times to make a mark on the pocket side of the door frame. Bend the bolt in the opposite direction.
